Independent house — Nagarabhavi — Nagarabhavi, Bangalore
System size: 3 kW · Commissioned: Completed · Residential

The situation
A family of four in Nagarabhavi with a 3 BHK independent house — two ACs, geysers, a borewell pump and the usual daytime fans and lighting — was seeing bills of around ₹3,200 a month and climbing every summer. The terrace was free but had a staircase headroom block and water tanks on one side, so the usable clear span had to be planned carefully.
What we installed
A 3 kW grid-tied rooftop system with eight panels on a low galvanised structure ballasted on concrete pedestals, so the waterproofing was never drilled. The array was placed clear of the tank and stair-block shadow through the day. A string inverter, DCDB/ACDB protection and earthing were mounted in the utility area, and we filed the BESCOM net-metering application and the PM Surya Ghar subsidy claim on the family's behalf.
The result
The system generates roughly 360-380 units a month. Daytime consumption runs off solar and the surplus is exported, which brings most months down to just the fixed charges — a payback in the region of four years after subsidy.
