Space Matrix — design studio office — Vasanth Nagar, Bangalore
System size: 30 kW · Commissioned: Completed · Commercial

The situation
Space Matrix runs a design studio in Vasanth Nagar where the load is almost entirely daytime — workstations, servers, lighting and central cooling from 9 AM to 7 PM. On a commercial BESCOM tariff that made the monthly bill the second-largest fixed cost after rent. The terrace had usable span but shading from adjacent buildings and a cluster of existing HVAC units to work around.
What we installed
A 30 kW grid-tied rooftop system. Panels were laid out in strings that avoid the morning shadow line from the neighbouring block, mounted on a galvanised elevated structure that keeps service access to the HVAC banks clear. String inverters were installed in the electrical room with AC/DC protection, surge arrestors and earthing, and the system was tied into the existing LT panel. We handled the BESCOM net-metering application and liaison end to end.
The result
The 30 kW array generates in the region of 3,600 units a month — enough to offset the bulk of the studio's working-hours consumption, with surplus on weekends exported under net metering.
