The situation
A duplex villa in JP Nagar with a home office on the first floor. Three ACs, a home theatre and work-from-home equipment pushed the household into the higher BESCOM slabs, and short evening outages were interrupting calls. The owners wanted savings and clean backup without a diesel generator or a rack of lead-acid batteries.
What we installed
A 5 kW hybrid system on an elevated galvanised structure over the terrace parapet, keeping the terrace usable underneath. A hybrid inverter with a 5 kWh lithium battery powers a dedicated essentials circuit — router, lights, fans, the home-office sockets and the fridge — and switches over automatically within milliseconds. Grid-tied export is net-metered with BESCOM; the battery is charged from solar first, from the grid only as a fallback.
The result
Generation of roughly 600 units a month pulls the household out of the top tariff slabs, and the essentials circuit rides through evening outages without anyone noticing them.
